Design Brief: Interchangeable Bracelet
Client: A jewelry company
Designer: Noa Friedman
Problem Statement: A fine piece of jewelry is the key to completing any outfit, but even the nicest accessory can become a bore after being worn day after day. If only there was some way to provide this much needed variety without having to repeatedly spend countless dollars on new accessories.
Design Statement: The solution has arrived! My plan is to create a cuff bracelet that can be worn fashionably alone, or closed off with two different pendants. The wearer will have the option to choose how they want to wear the bracelet, providing them with the power to spruce up or modify their favorite accessory. It's both fun, and will save them money so they won't feel the need to buy new jewelry.
Constraints:
Timeline (estimated 3 weeks, 15 work days):
2-3 days planning and researching
5 days creating and experimenting with the band of the bracelet
2 days per pendant (4 days total)
3 days to add finishing touches, and creating animations and sheets
Approximate Object Size: The bracelet will have a diameter of about 7 cm and a height of 4.5 cm
Budget:
$4.20/ cubic inch
model material(calculated based on complete cylindrical cuff not including gaps): under 98.96 cubic cm = 38.96 inches, 4.20 x 38.96 = $163.63
support material: 163.63 x 2 = $327.26
